Margdarshak Development Projects and Consulting Private Limited (MDPCPL) was incorporated in the year 2004 as a Section 1 company under the Indian Companies Act, 1956. MDPCPL has three promoters Mr. Rahul J. Mittra, Mr. Arupjyoti Rai Baruah and Mr. Mahendra Dev and operates as the consulting arm of the Margdarshak group.
MDPCPL is engaged in providing research, impact assessment, strategy building and similar consulting support in the areas of livelihood and microfinance in India and abroad. MDPCPL is headed by Mr. Arupjyoti Rai Baruah and the company has a team of about eight professionals based at Delhi, Lucknow and Goa. MDPCPL has worked with various national and international clients including Traidcraft, Oxfam, ILO, SIDBI, etc.
Margdarshak Development Services
Margdarshak Development Services (MDS) was incorporated as a section 25 company in the year 2006 under Indian Companies Act, 1956. The company has three promoters Mr. Rahul J. Mittra, Mr. Arupjyoti Rai Baruah and Mr. Kanta Singh. MDS was established with an objective to implement model building field projects in the area of livelihood development and microfinance.
The microfinance activities of the organisation were launched in June, 2007 by MDS and have been headed by Mr. Rahul J. Mittra. In 2009, the promoters of MDS acquired an NBFC for increasing the scale of the group’s microfinance operations. MDS has also applied for FCRA registration and is in process of initiating and implementing field projects for livelihood strengthening. MDS is also implementing an Indo-Bangladesh; EU supported Jute Development Programme in India (West Bengal) in partnership with Traidcraft, UK.
Margdarshak Financial Services Ltd
Margdarshak Financial Services Limited was formed in December, 2009 by acquisition of “Crony Leasing & Finance Limited”, a Lucknow based company (incorporated in 1996) by promoters of Margdarshak Development Services (MDS) as a strategy to have separate legal arm for micro financing business. Margdarshak is registered with RBI as Non-Deposit Taking NBFC-MFI and it is headquartered in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.
