It was a great occasion for Margdarshak when the British High Commissioner visited its the Micro-Finance Clients in the slums near Havloc Road, Lucknow and interacted with them personally. Sir Dominic Asquith, High Commissioner, UK, along with Mr. Gavin McGillivray, Minister Counsellor Development and Head DFID India, St. John Gould, Director Trade Economics and Prosperity and their team praised the activities being executed by the Margdarshak Clients. We from Margdarshak displayed our patriotic sentiments hoisting the Tricolour in our branches across UP, Bihar and Haryana. We acknowledged our country’s historic event by paying homage to the National Flag.
Penetrating the dense fog on locations, our employees arrived at the branches in the morning. Some, along with their family members. Internship Programmes For Management Students

Extending the opportunity of learning to the students, Margdarshak offers internship programmes to the students of management institutes, to allow students to harness their skills and knowledge and to gain experiences of the professional world with proper training, assignments and duties. This summer 8 students of Jaipuria Institute of Management, Lucknow completed their internship of 2 months with Margdarshak.
Lot of us get stuck in routines, doing the same work and surrounded by same people. The internship gives the existing employees a chance to interact and working closely with the students on assignments help the employees find a level of clarity in their existing work. We believe and hope that these kind of experiences for the employees and the interns help in shaping them and their career and encouraging personal development.
Goal Setting Exercise

Employees who clearly understand their individual goals and how it directly contributes to the organisation’s goal, begin to focus on finding ways to work smarter and more efficiently. With this objective, Margdarshak in coordination with Grameen Foundation of India conducted a goal setting exercise for all second and third line managers of the organisation. The opening session started with understanding the importance of effectively setting the goals and closely aligning employee and business goals, followed by independent sessions with each department for help setting the departmental SMART goals and objectives. The closing session was held on June 17, 2017.
World Environment Day Celebration

Nature’s gifts are often hard to value in monetary terms. World Environment Day is the biggest annual event for positive environmental action and takes place every year on the 5th of June. On this day, Margdarshak had planned a beautiful activity of planting saplings/plants to mark your benefaction towards the noble motive and contribute wisely towards preserving our mother earth.
Newspapers are one of the biggest recyclables which are completely environment friendly, hence in order to make optimum use of the same, Margdarshak organised another interesting activity of making bags and other items out of old newspapers was organised on June 10, 2017 activity of making bags and other items out of old newspapers. Neelam is a field officer in Margadarshaks Madhubani branch. Exemplary work by her in handling 1200 clients (highest in the organisation) with not a single overdue. Her journey from Margdarshak’s client to highest performing field officer is moving and delightful. A true symbol of empowered woman it was a pleasure spending time with her and learning her aspirations for Margdarshak.
Digital Literacy Programme

Supported by SIDBI, the Digital Literacy Programme for micro business clusters of Uttar Pradesh, was conducted during the month of April 2017 in 14 districts of UP covering around 1600 clients. Aiming to educate the clients on digital financial options including schemes of government, a cadre of specialised Master Trainer on Digital Financial Literacy were used for on-site training in 14 artisanal locations. Short video clips on Digital Financial Literacy were displayed using fully loaded LED vans, followed by introducing digital platforms of different version such as Paytm, oxygen and BHIM to clients and their family members for transaction.

The closing session of Learn-Apply-Teach Management Development Programme (LAP MDP) was held on April 14, 2017. It is being conducted by Grameen Foundation India for its senior and middle managers for development of their core management and leadership skills.
It was a 12 month programme, consisting of 4 classroom sessions (one each quarter) and 2 hour virtual Group Dialogue session each month. The pre-session and post session consisted of self assessment to identify the areas of strength and opportunities of the participants before and after the session, 2-3 pre-reads to encourage reflection prior to group dialogue session and post session one to one meeting of pairs of trainees with facilitator for discussing the areas they were struggling with.
The first batch consisting of 23 participants had started in the month of June 2016. The programme will help them to not only develop their capacities but also to be able to better lead their teams and departments, cross collaborate and work with other teams and most importantly share and pass on their knowledge with others.
